So here we are in the hopes of maintaining our regular lively, witty, and often bizarre conversations. More importantly, we're here in the hopes of remaining friends. We've done amazingly well in dealing with each other so far, and I think we would all agree life would be less something without one another. So, here's to us...vive le singe de la pipe! *Monkey dances and plays symbols.*

Busy Bs, and Ns and Es and Js...

I heard it on the grapevine, Brandi, that you're about to lose your mind (sorry). Eight sections?! That's insane. I'm not sure I could handle even seeing that many freshmen on a day-to-day basis. My brains would turn to mush.

I suspect you will or have already disappeared, but I wanted to wish you luck (and patience) anyway. In your honor, I'm going to be the biggest pain in the ass student possible tomorrow -- and when my professors ask "what my fucking problem is," I'll say, "Brandi made me do it."

Congratulations on recent renovation successes you other two have had, and good luck settling further into your new homes.

I miss you guys. Be sure to make this year's Halloween party kick major ass.

  1. You'll be proud, J. and B..

I'm teaching Sherman Alexie later this semester. I'm skipping the early Native American chants, too. I figure they've been fed enough bullshit about the Native Americans and it's time they get a reality check about modern Native American life and what our forefathers really did to these people.

  3. thanks for the credit J. although, i'm not teaching 8 sections all at the same time. 2 are online only--i never see them, just grade their work; 1 is only the first 8 weeks; 1 is WORLD LIT! in the last 8 weeks. not so bad when you think about it.

good luck with your classes today--kick ass, take names, and blame it all on me!

E-yay for skipping the chants! yay for expanding horizons!

  4. Yeah. The anthology has Native American Chants. Dance around the fire sort of thing. Ridiculous. I had to read them for every undergrad lit. survey I ever had.
